Key Responsibilities

• Handle RHEL updates and take responsibility for updates in the stable streams.
• Backport selected security and other bug fixes into the stable release streams.
• Configure or backport tests for the updates.
• Establish a test environment, conduct tests, and verify fixes.
• Contribute to the development of tests and the test framework.
• Assist in the development and integration efforts of the test environment.
• Troubleshoot potential issues during testing and verification processes.
• Collaborate with various teams including product engineering, quality engineering, program management, and release engineering.
• Actively participate in product engineering team meetings, contributing insights and updates.

Skills Required & Experience

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in computer science or related engineering field, or relevant professional experience.
• Demonstrated interest in open-source software and development.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, Ruby, and Ruby on Rails.
• Familiarity with scripting using Bash or Python, or both.
• Experience working with Git, including cherry-picking, merging, and rebasing.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a global team.
• Prior participation and active community membership in open-source software projects are considered advantageous.
• Creative, motivated, and capable of working independently and as part of a globally distributed team.
